Research interests include a wide range of subjects in atmospheric chemistry, with a focus on hydrocarbon chemistry in the remote troposphere.
I am profoundly interested in the interplay of laboratory experiments, models, and in situ observations.
My wife
Maren
and I live in Somerville.
She is much better at choosing background colors than I am.
That's why we got married.
My father
Tom Donahue is in the business.
My mother Esther McPherson Donahue was treasurer of the Ann Arbor chapter of NOW for many years.
My brother Brian (a professor of American Civilization at Brandeis University),
sister in law Faith Rand live nearby in Weston with their son, Liam,
and my
brother and sister and law, Kevin and Chris Tarr, live in the Bay Area with their daughters, Nora and Maddy.
I avidly read Patrick O'Brian,
Ellis Peters
and James Joyce.
We recently viewed many houses from which the Joyces were evicted in
Trieste.
I play as much basketball as possible,
and play Irish Music.
